Description: When a national convenience store needed a new flexible packaging option for grab-and-go hot sandwiches, the Novolex innovation team developed an insulated poly/paper laminate that performed across multiple temperature requirements. The unique honeycomb insulation maintains food quality as the product moves from the freezer to thawing and reheating in-store and while held under heat for up to four hours. This sandwich wrap has changed the landscape in the quality of hot grab-and-go items.
F-ISB PET Film for Cold Blister Forming Application
Description: In conventional cold-form laminates, there are three layers: nylon, aluminum foil, and polyvinyl chloride (PVC). UFlex developed a revolutionary alu-alu packaging, where a special polyester film replaced the conventional nylon and PVC while retaining aluminum, making it an indigenous product (since PVC and BON had to be imported from other countries, which added to the cost and delayed availability). With this unique development, the UFlex Group provides sustainability and cost optimization, giving it an edge over conventional alu-alu packaging. The new structure of the F-ISB biaxially oriented polyethylene terephthalate (BOPET) film allows convenient printing and lamination with alu-foil. This film can be easily converted into a flexible packaging laminate. F-ISB BOPET film has large usage in pharma packaging applications, making it suitable for tablets and capsule packaging.

Description: Adagio Teas needed to reduce packaging and find an alternative to its rigid tea tins. The team was looking for an easy-to-ship, lightweight, and cost-effective solution, which made flexible packaging an easy choice. Nosco selected a 3.5mil MET polyethylene terephthalate with a thermally laminated matte finish for barrier and aesthetics. The material was then printed and laminated. This allowed for a high stock keeping unit count to be printed with virtually no additional setup costs or time between art changes. Adagio then converted the pouches and filled them with the artisanal product.
