C-P Flexible Packaging optimized compostable coffee pod lidding not only to be compatible with the newest single-serve brewing machines but also to reduce the number of layers in the structure for source reduction benefits. This new generation of compostable coffee pod lidding reduces the number of layers from three to two without compromising the functionality of the lidding film. Description: F-PGS, a recent innovation by UFlex, is a testimonial of excellent research. It is suitable for various packaging formats and surpasses the performance of polyvinylidene chloride-coated polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and ethylene vinyl alcohol PET films. F-PGS is a value-enriched film made from chlorine-free and eco-friendly technology and offers excellent flex crack resistance unlike metal oxide-coated film or Al-metalized film. With this development, the research and development team has been able to achieve a remarkable OTR of < 2.0 cc/m2/day. The film is compatible with solvent-based and water-based inks, especially with polyurethane (PU) and vinyl-based inks, and offers the virtue of optical clarity, thermal stability, and excellent processing, and is suitable for dry, chilled food, and liquid packaging.

Georgian Bay Granola Compostable Stand-up Pouch

Description: In a world full of multi-layered flexible plastic pouches that are difficult to recycle, C-P Flexible Packaging developed a stand-up pouch for Georgian Bay Granola—with a press-to-close zipper—that is fully compostable, resulting in fewer pouches that end up in landfills. The pouch uses biodegradable components with oxygen- and moisture-barrier properties to preserve the freshness of the high-quality granola. The biodegradable pouch’s structure is made with renewable materials consisting of wood pulp, biopolymers, and corn stock.

Fully Recyclable Metalized Replacement Bag-in-Box Film

Description: Berry Global and Mondelēz International launched a fully recyclable, high-barrier film that displaces metalized laminations in many large-volume consumer product categories like bag-in-box cookies and crackers. Through a unique blown-film technology and an innovative formulation, this market-based film drives significant barrier improvements and superior performance in lamination or unsupported bag-in-box applications. Berry Global and Mondelēz lead the packaging industry with this fully recyclable film that yields significant improvements over traditional metalized films. For Mondelēz, Berry Global developed a fully recyclable film with excellent oxygen- and moisture-barrier performance that eliminates an entire substrate, the metallization process, and achieves improved packaging performance.

Description: As this package is for children, the utmost care was taken when designing the pouch. Fruit and vegetable puree is aqueous and acidic in nature. Therefore, it needs to be protected from moisture and oxygen with a high-barrier packaging material. Proper packaging is also essential for protecting the nutritional value of the product and preserving the pleasant aroma. With this in mind, the technical aspects and physical appearance were incorporated by giving this pouch a unique shape to make this package attractive for children.


F-MSH Super Matte Polyester Film for Printing and Laminating Applications

Description: FLEXPET F-MSH grade polyester film is a mono extruded matte finish polyester film with high haze and low gloss with an excellent muted and grainy surface. Owing to its applicability for muted and grainy surfaces, this grade of polyester film is suitable for general printing and lamination applications. This film is also available on corona treatment or chemically coated side and complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration and EC regulations ideal for food packaging applications.
