St. John’s Packaging Buys Mexican Converter



St. Johns Packaging Ltd. recently announced that it has completed the acquisition of Plásticos Uribe (PU), a plastics converter based in Tlaquepaque, Mexico.

PU’s flexible packaging products are sold to consumer package goods (CPGs) companies throughout Mexico.

“By establishing a significant manufacturing presence in Mexico, our overall supply chain will be more robust, and we’ll be a more reliable supplier for our long-standing North American market customers,” says Marc Leclair, president and CEO of St. Johns Packaging based in

 Québec, Canada.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 1954, St. Johns Packaging is a vertically integrated manufacturer of flexible packaging products. It has more than 900 employees, operating manufacturing facilities in Canada, the United States, Mexico, the U.K., China, and Vietnam.
