Flint Group Packaging Inks recently reported that its new production site in Russia is on track for completion in early 2022, despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new facility will replace the existing Flint Group Packaging Inks’ site in Moscow, the company said in a news release.

Developed to support Flint Group Packaging Inks’ customers, the new facility, located southwest of Moscow in the Kaluga region, will strengthen the company’s supply position in the strategically essential Russian packaging market, the company said. The investment brings the company closer to its customer base by facilitating greater localization of manufacturing, technical, and commercial services. The facility is positioned to service both local and international package printers, the company added.

The state-of-the-art facility, which will employ more than 70 people, will be the regional production base for the company’s Russian and CIS Packaging Inks businesses, producing water- and solvent-based ink and coating products.

“Clearly this is a challenging time for all businesses, and we continue to be firmly focused on employee health and safety at Flint Group Packaging Inks,” said Andrei Popov, a commercial director at Flint Group Packaging Inks. “However, despite the challenges, we’re delighted that our new facility—a game changing investment for our customers—is firmly on track with completion estimated for early 2022.”
