NOVA Promotes From Within to Improve Overall Sales

NOVA Chemicals, a sustainable polyethylene producer based in Canada, recently promoted two of its officials to help lead the company.

Jim Worby, who has been with NOVA more than 25 years, was named vice president of polyethylene sales. He will lead NOVA’s sales team focused on the new capacity from the company’s second Advanced SCLAIRTECH™ technology facility in Ontario, Canada.

Worby succeeds Todd Becker, who retired on April 1, 2024, after 17 years with the company.

Debra van Holst has been named global head of customer experience, which is a newly created position. In her nearly three decades with the company, van Holst has held multiple leadership roles, spanning operations, marketing, logistics, and customer service, the company says.

She will lead the continued development and implementation of customer experience initiatives across NOVA. “She will work closely with cross-functional business groups to ensure that customer needs are at the forefront of all decisions, utilizing data and analytics to identify opportunities for improvement,” according to the company.

Headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Nova Chemicals has nearly 2,500 employees worldwide and is wholly owned by Mubadala Investment Company of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
