The Lubrizol Corporation has named Rebecca Liebert as the company’s president and CEO, effective Oct. 3.

Liebert succeeds Mary Rhinehart who has served as interim president and CEO since March. Rhinehart will continue as chair of the company’s board, Lubrizol says in a news release.

Liebert was most recently executive vice president of PPG Industries, a global leader in paints, coatings, and specialty materials. Her responsibilities included PPG’s global industrial segment businesses, oversight of the Asia Pacific region, and functional responsibility for global procurement, resin, and industrial segment manufacturing.

Founded in 1928, Ohio-based Lubrizol, a Berkshire Hathaway Company, owns and operates more than 100 manufacturing facilities, sales, and technical offices worldwide and employs about 8,600 people. It leverages “science to unlock immense possibilities at the molecular level, driving sustainable and measurable results,” the company says.
