Kathy Bolhous, CEO of Charter Next Generation, recently was named to Forbes magazine’s 50 Over 50 list of women who have achieved great success after turning 50.

The women work across numerous sectors of the economy, including education, politics, business, media, and sports. It includes national leaders such as Vice President Kamala Harris and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, as well as MSNBC journalist Mika Brzezinski.

“In a moment when a global pandemic has pushed a disproportionate number of women out of the workforce—and, among this demographic, forced hundreds of thousands into too-early retirements—it is our hope that the stories of the women on this list resonate, inform and inspire,” Forbes said in the introduction to its list of 50 women.

When Bolhous took the top spot at the company in 2010, the article says, the company was worth $62 million. In May, it had a market value of $4 billion, it adds.

“As the ninth of 10 siblings who also put herself through college, Bolhous knows a thing or two about healthy competition and hard work,” Forbes says.

Bolhous, 61, is chairperson of the FPA board of directors and was featured in the January/February issue of FlexPack VOICE®.
