FILMtech Expands in Tennessee

FILMtech Inc. is expanding on its 18-acre campus near Knoxville, Tennessee, with excavation already completed for a new 30,000-square-foot structure.

The building will increase FILMtech’s manufacturing facility to 150,000 square feet, the company says in a news release. The maker of metallized and clear barrier films says that the addition will accommodate a new metallizing machine, while increasing warehousing capabilities and the shipping and receiving areas.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

“We have been able to grow beyond our traditional converting markets, and this expansion will support the new customers and equipment we have added in the last few years,” says Joey Barnard, FILMtech’s vice president of operations.

Founded in 2002, FILMtech has more than 80 workers and provides products and services for the flexible packaging and barrier industries, including food and pet food packaging, construction, agricultural, aerospace, printing, labeling, and industrial tapes markets.
