Amcor Expands in Singapore

Amcor recently opened a packaging facility in Tuas, Singapore, that will be dedicated to health care packaging.

The company says the facility, which has cleanroom manufacturing environments, will address current and future market needs as demand accelerates across the Asia Pacific region.

The Asia Pacific health care packaging market is expected to grow at more than 8% through 2026, says Peter Konieczny, Amcor’s chief commercial officer, citing marketing research data from Mordor Intelligence.

Amcor also will have an innovation center for health care films in the Singapore facility to “drive advancement in co-extrusion blown film technology,” the company says.

“Health care is one of the fastest growing industries in the region, and customers are looking for packaging suppliers that can improve their speed to the market,” says Scott Jackson, Amcor’s general manager, Southeast Asia Healthcare.
