ELC Summer Intern Program Resumes

The Flexible Packaging Association’s (FPA) Emerging Leadership Council (ELC) is excited to announce that it will be hosting the Virtual Summer Internship Program again this summer.

The program welcomed over 35 students from across 18 different FPA member companies last year, and hopes to expand that number this year.

Last year, the ELC immersed participants into the fundamentals of the industry and were fortunate to host several guest speakers including Ken Swanson, CEO of Liquibox, and Loran Nordgren, professor at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

In addition to the guest speaker series, ELC members hosted bi-weekly small group discussions to talk about key topics such as sustainability, career paths, and market trends.

The program intends to foster a sense of community and create networking opportunities for summer interns who are considering full-time careers in the flexible packaging industry.

We ask all FPA member companies wishing to participate in the program to complete the expression of interest form that was sent out, or email the program leaders: Abbey Phillips at abbeyphillips@americanpackaging.com or Apurva Shah at apurva.shah@cnginc.com.

In addition to the Virtual Summer Internship Program for summer interns, the ELC will also be hosting a basic introductory course for those new to the industry in the fall in conjunction with PACK EXPO International, being held October 23–26 in Chicago. More information on this will be released later this summer.

On behalf of the ELC, we appreciate your support and look forward to supporting FPA member companies as they recruit and retain talent within the industry.
