Siegwerk Helps With Protective Equipment Shortgages

During the shortage of personal protective equipment supplies early in the pandemic, Siegwerk’s regional procurement team secured PPE masks from a new source. After the original order was fulfilled, the company had extra masks. Its warehouse and logistics team coordinated with LifeServe Blood Center of Iowa and Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines to provide 250 masks to each center to help cover their shortage of supplies.

The maker of printing ink has operations worldwide, including a flexible packaging headquarters in Des Moines. Globally, Siegwerk is warehousing 200,000 to 300,000 protective masks, glasses, and gloves to be distributed to hospitals and retirement homes in local communities where Siegwerkers live and work, the company says.
