On March 20, 54 volunteers from The Bumble Bee Seafood Company participated in Global Recycling Day. From separate locations across the U.S. and Canada, employees collectively picked up 278 pounds of trash and recyclables in their communities.
The event, called “I Love A Clean Planet,” was powered by the environmental organization “I Love A Clean San Diego” and is headquartered in the same city as Bumble Bee. A central feature of the event was a data collection map, which shows the various locations and pounds of trash and recyclables collected by team members. The company will update this map throughout the year to reflect where workers have participated.
