Koenig & Bauer (US/CA) recently named Gerrit Zwergel as its new CEO after having been chief financial officer (CFO) for more than 25 years.
“I am extremely proud to lead this forward-thinking management team and organization into the future as we evolve with the dynamic marketplace and introduce exciting new technology,” says Zwergel, who will continue as CFO in addition to his new responsibilities as CEO.
Former CEO Kilian Renschler decided to return to Germany for personal reasons after having served in the role since Jan. 1, 2021, the company said in a news release. The company added that Renschler “significantly strengthened Koenig & Bauer’s position in the North American market.”
In other moves, Chris Talbert has been promoted to chief operating officer (COO) and will join the management board of Koenig & Bauer (US/CA). He has been with the company for more than 21 years.
Jeff Dietz has been appointed as the new senior vice president of sales. Previously, he had served as the vice president of the firm’s web and specialty press division. In his new role, he will be meeting extensively with current and potential customers, as well as overseeing the North American sales team.
Eric Frank will continue as the company’s senior vice president of marketing.
