One company is a plastics recycler founded nearly 30 years ago and is working toward a circular economy.

Another company, based in France, makes machines for the flexible packaging and carton packaging industries.

Then, a third business specializes in production and business management software for the packaging industry.

And there are two more companies, one based in the Middle East and the other in Asia.

Although vastly different in what they do and where they are from, the five companies are the newest members of the Flexible Packaging Association (FPA). FPA continually seeks to grow its membership base. All five are associate members, which is a member category set aside for companies that make materials, equipment, or supplies related to the flexible packaging industry.

FPA’s additional membership categories include converters, international converters, trade press, academic, and supporting members. Supporting members, which is a relatively new membership category, include nonmanufacturing companies that support the industry through the sale or distribution of materials or services to the flexible packaging industry.

As of an April 2025 report, FPA has 197 members. The membership roster comprises 83 associate members, 75 converter members, 19 academic members, 10 supporting members, six international converter members, and four trade press members.

Here is a closer look at the five associate members who recently joined FPA, which is based in Annapolis, Maryland:

  • DCM ATN makes various machines for the flexible packaging and carton packaging industries. Founded in 1953, the global company designs and assembles its machines in France. “DCM has been able to maintain, over the decades, a family shareholding and passionate team, which makes it a stable company, focused on its business,” Jean-François Piau, president of the DCM Group, says on the company’s website.
  • Ester Industries Limited manufactures polyester films and specialty polymers. The global company is based in India, and its main manufacturing facility is located north of New Delhi. “We have a global presence, supplying a large customer base in 75 countries across Europe, the Americas, Africa, the Indian subcontinent, Far East, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East,” according to Ester’s website.
  • HiFlow Solutions provides management information systems and enterprise resource planning software to help streamline packaging production and business management. Its software support system includes unlimited calls and response times of  one to four hours, the company says on the HiFlow website. The company was founded in 1999 by two brothers, Mariusz and Adam Sosnowski. It is based in Miami and has offices in Poland and Mexico.
  • JBF Bahrain W.L.L. makes biaxially oriented polyethylene terephthalate film. “JBF Bahrain is one of 30 factories in the Kingdom awarded with the ‘Green Factory Label’ as part of the government’s initiative to promote an advanced and sustainable industrial sector,” according to JBF’s website. Based in the kingdom of Bahrain in the Middle East, the global company was founded in 2013 and also has an office in London.
  • Revolution Sustainable Solutions, LLC has sought to keep plastics out of landfills and has committed to creating closed loop sustainable solutions to waste. “To us, plastic is a valuable resource that can have infinite usefulness if we reclaim and reuse it responsibly,” Revolution says on its website. “Which is why we developed an integrated, sustainable loop business model to effectively manage and control the entire lifecycle of plastics.” Founded in 1996, the company is based in Arkansas and serves numerous industries, including food service, retail, agriculture, transportation, and warehousing. It has operations in Arkansas, California, Indiana, Minnesota, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin.

The addition of these five companies—DCM ATN, Ester Industries Limited, HiFlow Solutions, JBF Bahrain W.L.L., and Revolution Sustainable Solutions, LLC—underscores FPA’s commitment to fostering a comprehensive membership. Ranging from machine manufacturers and material producers to software providers and plastics recyclers, these new associate members highlight the multifaceted nature of the flexible packaging industry.

Their global presence and varied specializations enrich FPA’s collective expertise and reinforce its role in connecting key players across the entire packaging value chain. As FPA continues to expand its ranks, it strengthens its position as a vital hub for collaboration, innovation, and the advancement of sustainable practices within the flexible packaging sector.
