UFlex, an India-based flexible packaging company, intends to invest $50 million in a manufacturing plant in Mexico to produce woven polypropylene (WPP) bags for markets in North and South America, according to a recent company report.
The plant will have an annual production capacity of 80 million bags that will help meet the rising demand for pet food packaging.
“This plant will be the first WPP packaging plant in Mexico catering to the lucrative North and South American pet food market, estimated at approximately $90 billion in 2025 and expected to reach approximately $135 billion by 2030,” said Ashok Chaturvedi, chair and managing director at UFlex Group, in a statement.
