OMAC Scholarship Available to Students

A $5,000 scholarship that can help students interested in packaging careers is accepting applications through March 2025.

The Organization for Machine Automation and Control (OMAC) sponsors the John A. Kowal Memorial Scholarship. It was established in the memory of Kowal, one of OMAC’s founding members and his contributions to the field he served for more than 20 years, and to encourage the growth of careers in automation, according to the organization.

Previous recipients have included a student studying packaging management at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, and a student studying packaging engineering at the University of Florida, in Gainesville, Florida.

‍The scholarship opened on January 2, 2025, and the deadline to apply is March 31, 2025.

Applicants will be taken to a website sponsored by PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, that promotes several other scholarships. Details about those programs are available on the PMMI website, as well.
