Felton has been executive director of AMERIPEN—the American Institute for Packaging and the Environment, where he led efforts to increase the organization’s membership, revenue, advocacy efforts, and public profile, according to a news release from FPA.

AMERIPEN represents the entire packaging industry, focusing on U.S. public policy while representing brand owners, material producers, and recycling partners, according to AMERIPEN’s website.

At FPA, Felton will be responsible for growing the value of the organization and the flexible packaging industry to its members, partners, policymakers, and other stakeholders, according to the news release from FPA, which is based in Annapolis, Maryland.

“He will lead efforts to expand FPA’s meetings and programs while growing and strengthening its membership base and advocating on behalf of them and the entire U.S. flexible packaging industry,” the organization also stated.

Felton says he expects to start his new position on November 4, 2024.

“As a veteran of the packaging industry trade association world, I’m beyond excited to join FPA, the leading organization for flexible packaging,” Felton said in a statement. “FPA is well known for its strong, passionate leaders, talented staff, and members, and I am honored to have the opportunity to work with all of them to drive the organization forward and expand its reach.”

Felton replaces Alison Keane, who left FPA in August after eight years to become the president of the International Sleep Products Association and Mattress Recycling Council, both based in northern Virginia.
