Graham Packaging Investment in Virginia Attracts Government Incentives

Pennsylvania-based Graham Packaging will be investing $20 million in a Virginia facility, a project that recently spurred tax incentives of $520,000 over a four-year period.

Graham Packaging is making the investment at its Altavista plant, which has been in operation for over 15 years, according to a news release from the Campbell County Board of Supervisors and Altavista Economic Development Authority (EDA).

At its meeting on September 3, 2024, the board of supervisors authorized an economic stimulus grant of up to $320,000 based on the company’s capital investment, and the Altavista EDA committed to an additional $200,000 in tax rebates.

“Graham’s position as an economic driver in the Altavista area is well documented,” said Altavista District Supervisor Tom Lawton in a release. Campbell County is in central Virginia. Graham Packaging strategically positions packaging facilities close to its customer’s filling facilities, the news release also noted.
