Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corporation Buys New York Company

Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corporation (W&H) recently bought Addex, Inc., a supplier of blown film extrusion equipment.

Based in Newark, New York, Addex will continue to operate independently under its existing name, maintaining its product lines and customer relationships, with an ongoing focus on the U.S. and Canadian markets, according to a news release from W&H. W&H, which is based in Rhode Island, is the North American subsidiary of German machine manufacturer Windmöller & Hölscher Group.

Brad Humbolt, who has served as sales director of corporate accounts at W&H, has assumed the role of president. Bob Cree, who founded the company in 1989 with Rick von Kraus, has transitioned into a newly created role as director of special projects.

“This acquisition represents our succession plan and gives me complete confidence that the business that Rick and I built will continue to flourish well into the future,” Cree says.

Andrew Wheeler, president of W&H Corp, notes that Addex and W&H have enjoyed a long relationship. “Their capabilities are highly complementary to our growing retrofit business,” he adds.
