Pietro Cassani has been named president and CEO at Sidel effective July 15, 2024.
Cassani, who will be based in Parma, Italy, has been CEO of the Marchesini Group for the past eight years. He has over 30 years of business and engineering experience and holds an engineering degree from the University of Bologna and a master’s degree in business administration from the SDA Bocconi School of Management.
His appointment by the board of the Tetra Laval Group, which consists of three industry groups that include Sidel, follows the decision by Monica Gimre to step down. Gimre has been the president and CEO for more than five years and has been with the Tetra Laval Group for 41 years.
In addition to Sidel, Tetra Laval Group operates Tetra Pak and DeLaval, which also focus on technologies and services for the production, processing, packaging, and distribution of food.
Sidel is a global provider of packaging solutions for beverages, food, and personal and household care products in polyethylene terephthalate, cans, glass, and other materials.
