Kuraray America in Houston named Hans Vandommele president and CEO at the start of this year and promoted two others to leadership positions.
Vandommele has more than 25 years of global experience in operations and business strategy, leading Kuraray America’s growth with a focus on sustainability, operational excellence, and innovation at the company even before the promotion, the company says in a news release.



Nelson Rodriguez was also appointed general manager of the company’s ethylene vinyl alcohol business unit. He previously served as Bayport plant manager and global production and technology functional leader for the polyvinyl alcohol business.
His community and industry roles include chair of the La Porte Plant Managers Network and leadership positions with the La Porte Rotary Club and the La Porte/Bayshore Chamber of Commerce.
As of April 2025, Raymond Myska was promoted to Bayport plant manager. Myska, who joined Kuraray in 2017, had been serving as interim Bayport plant manager.
Kuraray America is part of Kuraray Co., Ltd., based in Japan.
