St. Johns Packaging Buys Flexible Packaging Solutions Pty Ltd
Canada-based St. Johns Packaging has bought Flexible Packaging Solutions Pty Ltd (FPS), an Australian-based printer converter.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
From its facility in Brisbane, FPS has about 50 workers and is a leading player in the Australian food packaging market, with expertise in the fresh produce sector, St. Johns said in a news release.
The acquisition will enable St. Johns to integrate FPS into its broader Asia Pacific operations, says Marc Leclair, president and CEO of St. Johns.
“The acquisition of FPS allows us to strengthen our management team while expanding and diversifying our manufacturing capabilities, product mix, customer base, and geographic footprint,” Leclair adds. “We continue to be on the lookout for other similar opportunities.”
St. Johns Packaging was founded in 1954 by René J. Leclair and headquartered in Montreal, Canada. It is a vertically integrated manufacturer of flexible packaging products that are sold to food and consumer product companies. Employing more than 950 workers, the company currently operates manufacturing facilities in Canada, the United States, Mexico, the United Kingdom, China, and Vietnam.
